Haming for the Camera - Sokcho, South Korea |
|
One warm spring afternoon I was out exploring
the neighborhood where I was staying in Sokocho.
An elementary school was near-by... the bell rang,
and the children flooded the street. At first
the children were afraid of me; but when they
realize I was harmless they surrounded me and
wanted to talk to me, they were so curious. They knew a little
English (they study English in school) and I know
a few words in Korean -- I had a blast interacting with
them. The children are extremely well behaved and
very respectful of adults. Interesting note: In general there are no
parents accompanying the children on there way home -- the
streets are safe!
