Lava Met Water - Cheju Island, South Korea |
|
More than a million years ago, Cheju experienced
masive volcanic erruptions with great lava flows
that nearly covered the entire island. This photo shows where a
river of hot lava hit the cool sea water. The many years
of erosion have created a beautiful, but extremely
dangerous coast.
