Sokcho is a major fishing port city. There are two
primary fish markets -- I spent hours exploring each
of them. Never have I seen so much fresh (live)
seafood, of every imaginable type. It's all for sale,
the price is always negotiable and very reasonable since
the competition is fierce. For me these markets were like
visual fantasy land -- the imagery was incredible. I couldn't
shoot enough film.
In the above photo, the colorful tubs are filled with live
seafood to choose from, and are continuously being pumped
with fresh sea water. The women in the foreground is
offering specimens for sale, to passersby.
