At the base of Mt. Soraksan, as you enter
the national park you'll see this huge statue
of Bhudda. It's really quite an impressive sight,
but difficult to translate to film. As you can see
the people are bowed and praying in the right foreground.
On the left, the people are each placing a lit candle with their
name inscribe into the case with a glass door. I understand
that as the candles burn downs their souls are cleansed -
the evil burns away.
